Tongariro Nat Park (Hauhungatahi) or Kaimanawa Forest Park

My bro in law and I (@sumalPeoJ) are going for our first overnight/s hunt. we were planning on Tongariro Nat Park (Hauhungatahi) but after talking to the local Doc office for some
local knowledge they advised the lower parts are pretty boggy due to water run offs etc and hard to move around....

so with that we're in two minds on where we should go ....

Your experienced & knowledgable thoughts on Tongariro Nat Park (Hauhungatahi) or Kaimanawa Forest Park would be appreciated!

    cheers B

Would be better off heading to Kaimanawa Road off the Desert Road south of Turangi and head down the track to Tree Trunk Gorge and then cut off with the track somewhere.
Will be very dry and noisy going though.

Good luck in there man, as said before, if you are hunting the bush take some beach feet or hunt in your socks, gets pretty crunchy in there this time of year
