Got the camera set a little high. Yeah, the stags all drop their antlers at different stages. Saw a good red on the weekend that had the start of velvet coming though and a good spiker still in hard antler.
The camera is about 300mm above the ground but slopes away fast. Was the first run for it so still learning. I thought they would all have dropped by now but obviously only the older boys so far
Great pic's at least the 1080 hasn't killed them all. Did you find any dead animals when checking the camera's?
Couple from my trail cam. Try set it so it gives good view of the animal. Normally not too high but have it angle downwards. My stalker (149)has a piece on the back that you can use to angle the camera plus it has a screen on front where you can view what its looking at so you can get good full pictures. I found taking ten second vids is the best. Gets way more better footage of the animals than a picture. my set on one pic and a ten sec video. Got awesome shots of stags in wallows etc
No dead animals but plenty of baits, cheers deer243 ill give that a go. Wicked picture!
Good there are no dead animals and the baits should be starting to break down especially if there is frequent rain, @deer243 nice trail camera pics we have ours set on one photo and 30 seconds video, found that sometimes a deer runs through and triggers the camera and10 -15 seconds later more animals appear. It's good to have various setting options.
Yeah, how is 30 s vids on the battery life? Getting Vid is where its at if you want to see whats out there and get great footage. Just gets more animals and is a better option than just a pic when you can get both.
Because my brother in law lives within 20 minutes of the forest the cameras are in we check them every weekend. In saying that most cameras don't need a battery change for 3-4 weeks depending on triggers. If you were travelling a long way to the cameras then shorter video would be better. The cameras he uses are Moultrie 999 plus a few Moultrie's the model before the 999, as well as 3 Bushnell Agressor's No glow model. We have found the Bushnell takes a very clear picture better than the others.
