May need to ask a Yankie forum mate? We are prodominantly ground hunters with the exception of the fly boys :)
Go to the Australian forum AHN if your not already a member and search up the member mchughcb . He has a thread going at the moment about tree stands that's he is experimenting with built out of timber .
Where in Aus are you because if your down in Samber country he might be close .
Ken
Yeah that was my next though......grab some wood and make one :)
I made a rough as one with steel, not the best (wouldn't come close to it) but it works, haven''t used it hunting yet though (don't think I ever will)

If I do ever use it I'd use 2 tie-downs one around the bottom

Cheers guys, HartHunter and I are making a few but I want to have a proper one for some bow hunt guiding I'm planning on doing. I actually ended up buying one through ebay. Went with a 2 man ladder tree stand.
Cheers Ground Control - I am a member there but don't really use it, I've tried asking a few questions here and there and never really get much help so I didn't bother.
Mate , I totally understand your comments about AHN :)
There is an extraordinary number of armchair experts with very bad social skills there . I read a lot but say little there , mainly just interested in keeping up with Aussie shooting gossip .
Good luck with the tree stand I'd be interested to know how you get on with it .
Are you going to use it in heavily wooded areas or is it just to get yourself a better view of the surroundings , waterhole , wallow etc ?
Ken
Yeh I totally agree, there is also a guy there who seems to be held in high esteem which I know is an absolute big noting wanker in real life and that was pretty much the nail in the coffin for that forum. And I've noticed that most heads that pop up there end up on facebook anyway.
Mostly for wooded stuff I'd say, I bow hunt and will hopefully be doing some archery guiding in SA next year so I want it for that as well. I'm in Vic myself.
