Thread: Unfortunate start to the duck hunting season

Turn up at home for lunch today... find the front gate closed... and thats odd and our side gate wide open. Go around the back and find my hunting bag next to my chiller... walk around find out back door wide open. Walk inside and find someone has tipped the place upside down. Smashed down the wall around my gun safe and taken the safe with all the guns inside. Everyone be carefull out there atm seams to be happening alot!

Yep cops attended along with the forensics team. Missing 3 rifles and my shotgun.

Bugger, if you were down south I would of loaned you a shotty and some deeks mine are getting a rest this year as I'm busy building my landcruiser.
If you need some gear to loan maybe get a post up in the buy sell section and hopefully some of the north island folk could help ya out ?

Was anything else taken or do you think you were targeted for your firearms?

Not 100% sure. After speaking to guys at h&f this arvo its happening alot in the area. But they had been thru the whole place but yeah pretty much only hunting items taken. Shit thing is that all my hunting gear no needed in a safe lives in my pack which was in front of the safe. Bag was found outside emptied. So you cab imagine whats in there.. thermal. binos. range finder. headlamp. spotlight the lot. Seams like thats the only thing they were after.

Worst thing to me personally is the kids. They havent taken it to well and that really tears ya apart inside. Like everything is insured and everything can be replaced but seeing them that scared is the worst bit

Great to hear, I hope the catch with the a. holes who took your gear. Not that it will mean much, Judge will just let them go again

Thats the worst bit! They got a heap of sweat on the walls and doors so hope that the dick has had a dna sample done before
