Its been a real long time since I was last in there too.
What id the deal with Tuhoe now involved? I see the new HQ at Taneatua. I expect permits are still required? Can you get them online?
There was a fair bit of friction in the park for a while, has the recent acknowlement of Tuhoe as custodians resolved this?
Our school camp was regularly up the Waimana Valley and it was awesome.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

I don't know if/when we will be going back. Our magic fly in spot has got more and more popular.
Numbers were ok but heads where pretty shit with best been 6pt and some malformed.
The attraction there is the awesomeness of the bush and surrounding features. Knowing the lay of the land and still finding new surprises such as a wallow we had never noticed before etc

Yes permits are still needed and yes you can get them online. The people in the northern end have always been interesting
