Waihohonu and Southern poled route Desert road

Hey everyone, just wondering what people’s recent experiences have been parking up off the desert road for waihohonu or southern poled route. Always been keen to give them a go but been a bit nervous leaving my sign written tradie hilux in the carpark.

    Thanks
    Jordy

Always worth a look up the pole track, can be very busy though, drove past yesterday, already 6 cars parked up. Haven't heard of any security issues.

School holidays I'd stay away from leaving a wagon there. Wait till the (young) shitheads go back to school, and I would be happy to leave my wagon on the edge of SH1 for one night mid week on the Desert road.
