We are touring down near Waimate for the holidays. My young fellas are keen to hunt some wallabies and I'd be lying if I wasn't interested as well. Are there any good public spots to hunt from? Road end stuff?

plenty of them about..we had 2 close calls at 1am on main road up waitaki valley last weekend
as for roadend spots....Mt Studholm, sit and glass bush edges, look for two tone grey roadcone with mickey mouse ears....even on crappy day you SHOULD be able to see 3 or 4 without much effort at all.
Thanks MD, much appreciated. Drove through Geraldine today and had lunch there, nice little town.
the camping ground in middle of town gets crazy busy.......never seen anything like it as destination of lakes etc are hour away.
like all animals first and last light are best times for wobblies, but we have shot them in middle of day too,if its quiet and nothing happening dont be afraid to roll rocks down into scrub to flush them out, just be prepared for running shot,or hope they get out into open then stop to see what fuss is about.
@FRST Nice. That looks like your .270?
I had been trying to get hold of you a few days ago because I had a nice yearling for the branch bbq if you needed it. Given away now because I was short of freezer space, but happy to get another if its required.
Shooting Roo's is great fun, Just make sure you pose properly for future pics haha
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!
