Unsuccessful for me too. Any one in wanaka willing to line up for me? ;)
No luck here
I’ll change the tack of the thread and say success!!
Got West Wanaka so should be ok for a look. Then Donald River in Haast the following week.
We missed out as well..
No dice on my application. Seems to be a common trend unfortunately
i was number 27X application.... so theres a fair few entering. i was fairly latish to the party.. i forget how many total allocations each ballot.
its always been a common theme, though i think you locals can capitolize on the last chance draw on empty blocks on the 7th if yer lucky....
Yea I reckon you were early @Rees [emoji41]

ive only been hangin out for it since 2020...wsa hoping everyone forgot about it with Covid jabs etc ;) ah haa
i did ask the doc person for if there ws somewhere to find info on the ballot, numebrs, stats etc... an i asked why i didnt get picked lol.... refering to , is it becoz blocks i chose were popular, or is it a total random, or if the info would show XX % put in for Block A would be kind of cool....... we are in 2022
being from out of town, with 3 banwell books , i picked spots that may of been extremely useful back in 1930..... not so today but it was more about being in that spot, with the chance of hearing that noise... that creates the magic of the place.
I ended up getting block 38 (not one I applied for or the period but I'm stoked).
Anyone been in there?
Success Kitchener 2nd period
Cheers mate, she looks like some massive country all right :D
Have you been up those ways before?
Looks like flying in and walking out could be the go.
Harry Max ; Lake Creek is pretty baron , animal wise , Cotters has plenty of cover for a giant to lurk in , but the prevailing wind blows down these particular valleys all day and night , so it makes it difficult to choose a camp site.
You can fly in there
I have cotters for 4th period looks Like some mean country anyone have any info on it? Any history of it would be much appreciated Is there many chamoi around that area ? Thanks
Heck, yeah it looks like amazing country but I've not been hearing very good things about the numbers at all.... harassment by heli operators etc
Appreciate the info mate. Did you end up having it for a roar period previously or have you just hunted it in general?
Random question here....
There is not a ton of information on some of these blocks - Is it bad form/edict to share information about them on this forum/online?
Personally I don't expect to hunt that block again and would tend towards wanting to share information so folks have some more info to work with in future.
