    Wanted - Rabbit Hunting BOP

    Hey Guys ,

I was wondering if there are any likely spots or anyone has access to some rabbit hunting in the BOP - Ive promised my daughters Id take them out for a shoot but not been able to find any access , I've knocked on a couple cockies doors for nothing but the old "GGF" .

I don't want to thrash a spot - Id like to visit it a few times by myself to get a lie for the land and then take my daughters ( 6 & 7 years Old ) out for a taste of what shooting / Killing something really means - much like my dad did with me when I was 5 & I've never looked backwards

For those who Know Tauranga - I live near Barkes Corner - if that helps

    Cheers
    Roy

Advice I've been given , although I've yet to try it is to tell the cockie you're looking for some where to take your kids hunting for a few rabbits.

    Apparently they like that

Pretty hard for me they're 34 and 36 think a farmer will buy it, might get my son to ask if he can take this real old guy shooting before he get a mobility scooter!

Roy Xmas shoot 1st Sunday in Dec I leave Betlehem at 9:30 if your interested let me know closer to the date.
    Hares and rabbits currently get a choice of 577 snider, 577/450, 45/70, 24 g double gun, 12 gauge or .22 shortly will add 12.17 x 44r
That 32/20 would be a nice calibre for hares alright!
I'll let you know if I score anything

Thanks Maca , bummer for me ive got our staff xmas doo at fernland spa that day, as much as id like to drop the family there saying im just "popping" out be back soon- and head out with you instead of spending the afternoon with 20 screaming kids and a bunch of pissed builders......... I think it would end all brownie points for a while and given these are a valuable commodity, I better not take you up this time , ill make it one day soon ...... I promise
    Cheers
