Thread: Wapiti Bugle

Those who have hunted the buggers before, what’s your experience with when and how long the bugle tends to go for? I’ve always figured they are about the same as reds in that 1st period would be a touch early and winding up, 2nd period be ideal for the peak bugle and 3rd period they be winding down and finishing. What’s your experience with bugle action in relation to timelines?

I haven't hunted the roar period in Fiordland but have heard that the Wapiti tend to start a little sooner than the Reds. Somebody on forum may have a better idea so hopefully they will give some input for you.

Talking to the locals each year can be different some years going well first period others not really till second period
