    Wapiti first period

Any reports? I'm guessing be pretty quiet maybe just starting to get noisy there now? I had organized to take some forum members to their block but they went radio silence so don't know what happened there. Going to head to Te Anau today for a night or two but just for a night away with wife. Will probably give the stags a crack next weekend.

They were starting to go off with the cold snap overnight on the 29th. 2nd period could go well with the forecast good fine stretch next week. We had a gnarly time in McDonalds Creek, rained big time with just a fine day here and there made it very difficult to make progress but at least we didn't find a dead guy like some have in the past. Learned a lot for next time, and if there isn't a next time, it was a hell of an experience and the rides in and out were just breathtaking.

Not a lot of roaring going on, but the snow that arrived in the last few days of the period should fire them up for the second.
