    I use a microfiber cloth at home and tissue or TP in the bush have done for years, I have noticed on my oldest scope a leupold 2x7 (35 years old) it does have slight scratching that doesn't seem to have affected it much and have used TP on it a lot over the years. As Gibo said it's more the crap on the lens that scratches than the TP.
    If you are worried about the effects of TP on the lenses rather than wipe them just dab the lenses to soak up any water. Also I think it takes a long time to see the effects of wiping the lenses with TP.
