Only had 4mm in last 24 hours, bit of wind but nowhere near the 90 km predicted. Looks like a window tomorrow afternoon then back again Saturday, predicted drought?
cheers for that been studying the weather maps and rain forecast all week and seeing it as a 50-50 shot......wont pull the pin just yet............
I was in that direction yesterday evening. Very breezy, on top of the ridges it was pushing us around, but not wet or cold.
The road is closed at Kopaki, all traffic except residents are supposed to use the detour. I was a resident briefly yesterday
the deer dont have anywhere else to be...they will still be there, might be hunkered down...but IF you get break in weather and sun comes out...there will be animals out everywhere. Im one of those strange breeds that actually enjoy hunting on a wet day...windy,not so much.

If I have doubts about the weather, I still go.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

I was on the eastern side of pureora this morning for a recce (waihaha). Forecast was for 1-2mm an hour but not much eventuated and it was fine. When it did get heavy I hunkered down under some beech and waited it out. Saturday looks like theyre forecasting more rain but not that consistent. I’d go for it.
Hope you have better luck than me. Bugger all sign and heeeeeaps of fresh growth on all the trees, even the broadleafs were untouched in places. Probs won’t be heading back in there for a while.
