    went for a stroll

Went for a teeth cuttin mission to experience these Alps first hand and not on Google earth---- WHOA initial reaction.... Nervous and anxious sleep in the Car the night prior-

it was semi emotional walking into the valley 3 years in the making so to speak- last time i was in NZ for an event i wadded myself an needed a knee Reco, it was this place i had planned to walk into an hunt those years Ago so ti finally see it in Person, was kind of special!

a place not really known for Tahr, more chams an Reds, but i managed to spy 5 Tahrs all up, initially had the hut to myself but a couple walked in one with rifle and then a Bloke an 4 or 5 sheilas turned up... woulda made for quite the 'party' if the couple werent already bunked up ha ha!

    few snaps

Mostly a Mission too get a Feel for the Bush, a Look at what is to come as far as Climbing to the Tops ETC ETC........... mission SUCCESFULL.

bring on the next few months!
Should have my Rifle within the next 2 weeks, maybe next weekend if the Pay Day is alright LOL
Did a decent Walk in, took me a while on the way in, stopped several times for Cuppa an chill out, took about 2 hours to get my Mtn Legs again..... walk out was a bit quicker---always is down hill LOL

Got to Buy a PLB for these solo missions!

Where are you based @Rees ? The walk out isnt always quicker with a pack full of meat and skins! And downhill depends on the state of your knees I can climb way faster than I can descend these days.

Nice looking area, should be good for an animal or two once you are armed.
