    Wes Coast advise please

    Hi guys

I am heading south this December for the first time. I will be down there between 15-23rd and hoping to spend 3-4 days trying to locate a Tahr and/or Chamois.
Taking a 4wd ute and fit rest of the trip around the suitable hunting location.

I had a rough plan cooked up about 6 months ago but with the latest cull made me bit unsure. I was planning on checking up Whataroa but this might not be a sensible option anymore.
Could anyone please point me in the right area that is still worth checking out. Or if anyone heading out and would be willing to tolerate me hanging around that would be much appreciated.

In exchange would be happy to help with sika hunting in Kaweka's or team up for a few days next April.

    Cheers
    BF

Title meant to be West Coast. Only time when stupid auto correct doesn't do it's job.

wellington deerstalkers did 2 groups up the whataroa a couple of weeks back ,and it was being culled while they were there. but i bet there is still a lot of animals a bit lower down in the scrubbier areas.

Id say stick to your original plan, if there is scrub there should be some animals about. i went a month after they had culled an area and saw quite a few, 40 odd maybe half of what id seen at the same place previous, mate got his first tahr a nice 8yo bull just shy of 13 so was a good trip. this was over 3 days.
