    West burn mavora lake

Am thinking bout doing a hunt up the mavora lake. Specifically up in the west burn, which is 2/3rds along the the west side of the north lake. Looking at topo map, it appears interesting to me. Mate has a small power boat so getting there is sorted.
Am wondering about the deer species in that area, namely reds, fallow even chamois maybe.
Would be keen to hear thoughts on this.
    Ya can't park there mate.

Definitely Reds but no Fallow. If you're lucky you might have the opportunity to see a chamois on the tops. The chamois seem to be a little transient in that area though.

Good luck and don't forget to share some photos. It's a picturesque spot. I have a photo of the lake as my phone wallpaper... stunning.

Nice spot, great to look over into the Whitestone (beautiful place too) although surprisingly rugged and steep in places on those tops. No Fallow that I know of up there (they allegedly live in Shirkers Bush but I've never seen one) Chamois most definitely transient. There's a old Musterers or Cullers hut almost completely buried in beech leaves just inside the bush edge on the top of the spur that leads up from the footbridge at the bottom of North Lake

I shot a 11.3 inch Chamois buck in the West Burn when I was a kid. Not many animals about in there, but obviously good ones if ur lucky.
