I'm no use to you mate.
I'm heading down also, leaving Rotorua on the 3rd April for ten days. This time heading to Otago areas. Stopping in Chri to have a hunt also and on returning, stopping in Kaikoura for night at the Bach then into Nelson for a cousins 40th. Returning 14th to Vegas.
Pig hunting but have allocated time for a possible stag...
Pm me, we maybe crossing paths and I Have some mates in Murchison. Yes I have two mates

There's no deer on the west coast, I'd just give it a miss if I was you. That goes for all you pricks who aren't joined on the forum and are just reading it too! No deer, waste of time, bugger off somewhere else

All creeks and river systems have animals on the coast.

Most sensible hunters who reside on the coast, will only direct you to the above.
When I started out hunting it was very rare to see a boot mark let alone an animal mark.
The last few years there have been more and more people around and I spose because of sites like this etc.
You help one person out and they can't help but blab to their mates and before you know it you need to line up for a ticket just to hunt what used to be a good spot.
If you know what you are doing it won't be hard to find an animal on the coast.
    Good luck.
