    Westland wasp warning

With the dry summer the wasp population has done well. Up till now they have been quite docile and you could approach quite close to nests with no sign of aggression. They must have just switched diets or be coming under pressure as yesterday was horrific in the bush with my brother and I getting whacked on average once an hour by lone attackers with no sign of nests about.

    OK
That explains why the wasps were so bad 3 weeks ago when I was over there.
    Never seen them so bad
And yes it was very dry

Good to know because I might be back over there next week

I’m getting heaps too, up north.

I’m a bit new to this and saw some feasting on a rabbit jaw bone.

I thought it was a sign of the apocalypse.

What is the best remedy before they go on protein and after?

They not eating protein here yet. Waiting for it so I can kill the huas that are raiding the sugar water in bird feeder.tried them with smoked tuna yesterday and no interest yet. Be careful guys. Overalls and gaiters give some protection but nothing really stops them if determined.i hate wasps.

Shit the north Canty ones sure are. Have had to retrieve hung meat in the dark to get past the bastards.

We got smoked by wasps a few years ago on the coast. Nasty bastards for sure.

We are getting great results baiting with Hawkeye poison.
Takes a bit longer to work.
We have poisoned probably 20 nests with powder and just getting the ones we can't find now with the Hawkeye.
We are even getting plenty of grapes before the wasps!
