Wet arses and under cooked eggs

The call went out from @Barefoot to embark on a pest eradication mission. The goal to drop at least thirty grass munchers. Six enthusiastic rifles responded and we RV’ed at the memorial monument half an hour south of Taumarunui at midday Friday. By Sunday midday there had been sixteen Fallow deer and six pigs taken out of circulation and a bunch of goats were laying cold on the ground (at least sixteen by my count) so the mission was successful and we should all be in a good position for the BBQ season.

As to the uncooked eggs …… you will have to get that story from someone else.

That was left there in 2019 after Rushy's last visit, obviously all visitors in between have finer taste buds.

It seems this story needs a little filling -
It was a dark and rainy Friday morning when Rushy arrived 3/4 hour early for the trip down from Auckland. Joining us in the vehicle was my son, hoping to double his deer tally to 2 after his last trip.
We met up with the other 3 member of the crew - Mohawk660, Jeff and Sef at the rendezvous spot as the rain stopped and headed off for the block.
We set up shop in the house and after a meal of B&E pie we split into groups hoping to make the most of the afternoon before the rain came back.
It was a successful day, with Rushy laying waste to the goat population and Jeff achieving the near impossible of taking out a mob of 5 fallow and then a pig that came out to see what all the fuss was about.
Saturday was "Wet" but everyone got back out there as there was work to do. Pigs, goats and deer continue to fall and lunch arrived and the eggs . . .

Now there are 2 ways to serve eggs - cooked and uncooked, I like mine cooked and hard, its not a matter of whether they are runny or not that's purely preference, unfortunately some cooks are challenged by this and on the table was a plate of sunny side eggs with a translucent layer on the white indicating that they were not cooked! The chef received a severe reprimand and demoted settling the matter.

Sunday dawned cloudy but dry, a quick sortie resulted in a few more animals and them a long morning on the knives getting the meat ready to travel home.
A good trip was had by all but I would just like to add that the Chef failed to shoot a deer :P :D

Point of order @Barefoot where the fuck was I when the bacon and egg pie was on offer? I have no recollection whatsoever of such a sought after delicacy. Oh and not only did the egg under cooker not shoot a deer but he couldn’t even locate the pig he shot so someone else had to step in with an early morning search next day to put him on the board. Ha ha ha ha

Well you know how you were first out the door to hunt on Friday afternoon . . . sometimes it pays not to be.

Noted. And no one though the old bugger might like us to keep a piece aside for him. Good on ya, I wouldn’t have either.

It was in the tinfoil in the fridge. You may what to take this issue up with the (ex)chef.

Chiller belongs to the block owner.

is it perchance located beside the garage,across driveway from the main house????
