Got home from Oz on Thursday for a quick break before Xmas as I have to work. I seem to have mucked the weather up for my stints home, a lot lately.
A good mate rang up for a chat and a plan was hatched to go look for a Cham, rain or shine.
Up at 04:30 this morning, had a quick brew and we were off.
I reckon I have spent to much time in Oz turning into a towny as I brought way to much gear for the short jaunt and friggin forgot a few important things.
Anyway, we were after a buck over the 10 1/2'' mark and my cobber reckoned he knew where one may be.
It was good to be scrub again after a few months away. We saw 6 bucks a nanny and kid in a short space of time. Although we seen a couple bucks with potential we didn't find what we were after. But we had a good walk and the weather held until the trek back to the wagon.
All the bucks we seen, were very docile possibly due to a lack of hunting pressure and were not fussed with us even after we exposed ourselves after assessing them.
The nanny was the only animal that scampered off with her young one as soon as she seen us.
Couple picks of a wee buck.
