South island , one day
Ngamatea...Legally and free LOL
Any place in N.Z. wheres there are good deer numbers and clean bush !!!
Don't get to fly in to places now so mainly do day trips to Kaimanawhas, miss some of the good spots where the beech forest is in good order and you can see at least 100m
South Island and Alaska for me.
I don't mean to crush your dreams and by all means go, but these days its nowhere near what it used to be. I believe it was poor management but instead of 40" trophies the norm now is 33-34".
Australia is the place to go for Rusa these days I reckon and thats not just because I guide on them! There are plenty of guides up north that go for mid to high 30"s. There is one guy that can always get clients big deer but they're literally raised in a pen and released before you're hunt. But there are some really good guides and depending on who you go with you can save money on the new cal hunting.
I'm a deer hunter but if I could focus on any type of big game for me its a Wild Sheep - Rocky Mountain Bighorn is my favourite also Dall, Marco Polo, Mouflon, the other urials. Desert bighorn would be good if I had a spare $50k one day, the blue sheep of the Himalayas is meant to be an amazing hunt. The most realistic and cheapest is the mouflon, actually been looking at doing it next year though might be another year off. That will probably be it unless I can scrounge up $15k for a dall one day.
Don't mind some of the Ibex either.
Would like to do Africa and probably will one day though I'm more interested in the trophies, the hunting isn't really my thing (from what I've heard from people I know that have been).
But I won't die happy unless I've shot at least one sheep, a moose, a bear and a hog deer.
Also high on the list is whitetail, mule deer, wapiti, coues deer and blacktail.
Big wishes for a country boy I think!
Upland hunting in USA for my on my "Bucket List" in the Big Sky country

Sika in japan.
Utah - Chukar
Argentina - Doves
Sweden - Moose and Raindeer
Alaska - Mountain Goat and Halibut
Germany/Austria - driven Boars
Stewart Island or Southern Canada - White tail
Maybe some other upland birds, maybe a Driven Pheasant shoot, just once.
Here's something to get you started splash...!!!

Time and money permitting I'd like two spend some time chasing animals down south and the rest of the north island other than the ruahines.

Would love to go back to Stewart Island, preferably without the boat trip. Or Fiordland for moose.
alaska/canada, i wanna shoot me a moose.
Pretty cheap to hunt moose in Newfoundland boys - less than $5000.
I'd love to hunt Roosevelt Elk on Vancouver Island but I've heard a hunt comes in at around $10k so not gonna happen any time soon.
5-10k! Ill take 3 lol:)

Shit, we hunt deer, tahr amd chamois within an hour of home. The cost is the cost of fuel for the truck, a primer, about 71gr of powder and a projectile worth about 80 cents.
We are some of the luckiest hunters in the world here in NZ. We have it pretty good.
I want to revise my list:
Hunt near home with family and friends. Any time we want, nearly anywhere we want in NZ. Like we currently do!
