Question What can i bring in to NZ?

    Right o
I am off to North Dakota in a few weeks for work and i want to know what i can bring back in my suitcase.
I am thinking i could send stuff from over there to home as gifts and also make a contact or two to help me out in the future but what i need to know is the ins and outs as far as bringing shit home in my suitcase goes.
If anyone can shed some light on this it would be great.

You have to pay for them as well! Na! Sorry mate I am not to sure either. I plan to bring back stuff I have bought here in Oz to NZ and I dont see how it can be a problem if they are not packaged as I purchased them. They are just my bits of gear I need on my trip home.
Someone with more of an idea will post I am sure. I would like to know as well.

Bringing stuff into NZ is the easy part, if it's on the approved list your sweet..... getting it out of the US is the tricky part.
Firearms Approved for Use in New Zealand. | New Zealand Police

The yanks are paranoid of sending out gun parts, mazagines and rifles etc.

Each state has it's own set of rules and what might be ok in one state may not be ok in another even if your in transit.

You will have to brush up on the laws exporting concerning firearms and firearm parts.

These sites may help answer some of your questions.
    GunBroker.com - Help Center
World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools - BROWNELLS

That said I had a mate bring back two 10 shot magazines for a .22 Armi Jager AP74 without any hassels.
None of the sites that sold them would export because of all the paperwork involved.

But if you really want to bring something back I could do with one of these for a small job I have to do
.22 CHAMBER IRONING TOOL - Brownells

    Cheers
    Pete

I travel to Aussie with a firearm quite often and to get out of Australia with any of the following you need to become a registered exporter and fill out the forms at customs before departure about what you are exporting out of Australia. This also includes any of the items you own and imported into Australia.
The items requiring an export permit are any firearm, any firearm part, scopes, projectiles and empty cartridge cases, I don't know if this is the full list but I do know if they find any items not on the export documentation they get taken off you and deposited in the rubbish bin..........I saw this happen last year.

Then again I've heard of people buying things in Aussie and bringing them back without any problems.........Kiwi

Scope will be no problem at this end, just expect to pay the gst & don't worry about it. If you shop well you will still be saving heaps on local prices & won't have to pay postage. Who knows you may get lucky & not have to pay anything.

It's no problem buying and bringing into NZ what you have listed, as for exporting out of the US........the spotting scope and binoculars are no problem and ususally you won't have a problem bringing scopes out of the US......but technically speaking you do need an export permit to export any of the following, pistols, rifles, actions, barrels, any firearm part including but not limited to triggers, magazines, scope rings, scope bases, action parts, projectiles and rifle/pistol scopes out of the US. I am not sure what US customs would do if they decided to act on this.

Usually when I've departed the US I have taken a firearm into the US................Kiwi
