What size backpack for multi-day hunts?

85l Osprey Aether Plus it is.

Good choice, I've got the same but 65L for tramping. Great pack but I wish I got bigger.
Mine does have an annoying squeak when walking though, Before you go bush load it up and do some walks to check for noise.

There is a damn good deal on this pack at the mo'. For a spendthrift like me it was hard to do the responsible thing...

Where did you find the good deals on Osprey packs atm? I’ve been eyeing up the Kestrel 68..

Ive used a nz made genesis 75l macpac since i bought new 25 yrs ago. It has taken tons of abuse but keeps on truckin unlike me and my dodgy knee. Ive always needed about 75l to carry out meat. Could get away with much less if tramping only.
My next pack will be the 80l spika hauler with rifle stowage so i can use walking poles.

proper rifle stowage was a gamechanger for me, having it strapped to the side meant it caught on the bush or got damaged if i assed up, a strap over the shoulder kept falling off, my current pack has a rifle slot that sits it along my spine and i would never go back.

Yeah agree , slotted in next to your back in the centre looks ideal. Im going for the spika hauler for the meat rack.
I reckon going hands free with walking sticks will buy me another 20 years in the hills. If i miss out on a couple of spooked deer for being too slow so be it.

Got a mystery ranch pintler 38, great for day or 1 night.
Awesome meat shelf.
Can use the Same frame on multiple size bags,
if I need bigger bag can buy just the bag, and use same frame.

I checked out the mystery creek quick draw rifle sling. Looked quite handy
