    Whataroa chamios, deer

    Hey lads lookn at top butler hut (whataroa river) next april

    My mate lived in the area a million years ago but is this still a good place to go ? Or is there better ?
    Mainly after a chamios we were planning in walkn up from whataroa.

    Drop won't affect chamois, you're gonna pass much better places to go if you're gonna walk all the way up there...

    @outdoorlad two of us will walk up and back out while two older chaps will chopper in (with our main supplies) and walk out.
    Looks like its only a 10hr walk to top butler ?

    I walked to top butler there's a few river crossings down low when you first start out that can be impassable after rain so that's something to keep in mind, butler area in general gets a hiding by weekend warriors flying in. Much better places around there if you're prepared to camp
