Whats everyone doing for the roar?

I put in an app for the Haast ballot for the first time in yrs because my usual spot I shared with a good mate for as long as I can remember, is getting the green rain with pre-feed. It is likely to bugger it up for a few yrs.
I actually got the block I wanted for the first period and my cobber got one he applied for, that peaked his interest when he found a huge 300+ stag that was killed by another last year.
So we are going it solo for the first week as the blocks we have, do not hold many animals and can be covered pretty well by one person. We are then meeting up for a trip into a nice spot in Fiordiland we have been told about, by a another mate that knows the area and its potential in detail. He is supposed to be coming but I have a feeling he will be way too tired, eh Greyghost?
All I know is if I am lucky enough too fire a shot this year in my ballot block, it will be a 300+ staggy I have seen and hope is still there, or an 11" buck cham
    Whats everyone else up too?

Hope everyone plays it safe and has a good one.

I will be in the central NI bush for at least a week. The last two years have been stuffed up so next year it is all on.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

If your just after any old staggy on the coast and want to hunt good bush flick me a pm. I know plenty of handy spots that will keep you busy. They dont usually get into it till around the 7th as they are coastal deer. Always tons of fun but.

I would take ya in with me Jas but I doubt there will be much action in the way of vocal stags. If ya have no luck which I doubt. Youll get one for sure, this year, I will sort you out for next year easy.

Yep i appreciate that Dave.My goal is due to missing last years due to a severe wanking staff infection that ill be going in solo to test all i have learnt so far . As youve posted up this thread it means everyone must be thinking about it as ive been thinking about it almost everyday since june...ish I wouldnt say it consumes me but its sometimes bumps daydreaming porn episodes out of my headso its sereeus.

Mate you have to see some of the women running around my worksite. You will forget about any porn and wander off in a dream of roaring stags in a hurry. I rekon if ya roared here you would get a few of these beasts come in for a look One or 2 exceptions though.

Smashing a few other stags will most likely keep that big boy quiet and elusive.

head north mid march, back before april, have no plans what so ever for april though
Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts
