Outside of your rifle and ammo - what are your top 2 favorite things you take hunting with you.
It could be a serious item like survival equipment. I might be something sentimental like your grandfathers knife.
I'm really interested as I'm sure there will be some things that might surprise us all ... and some things I might need to buy !!

MSR stove, bivvy bag. Hot food/drink and a dry bed just makes the day regardless of how the hunting went.
A GOOD bottle of XXX that someone else has humped in.

People are gonna say headtorch, knife, pet rock, etc so I'll go with the only thing I take in always that is not immediately obvious - insect repellent. When my neck is sticking out of a sleeping bag on a hot night it is good to be invisible to those biting bastards.
That and a bit of paracord.
Eyes and ears?
Cigar and 1 beer incase im successful.......consume them anyway haha!
GPS/compass. You're not lost if you know where you are - even if you don't know how you got there! and
Small bum-sized piece of 'spongy pud' (thin sheet of expanded foam) to sit on when glassing/resting. nothing like keeping your bum (and bits) dry!
My custom made hunting belt the wife got me one anniversary. It has gone on every hunting trip over the past 8 years. Beautiful craftwork.
Oh, and my contact lense eye drops, farkin hard to keep eyes lubricated when I'm tired as fuck and not blinking much when looking through bino's. I'm fucked without them.
I would say map and compass as one item, and thermal blanket as another. Always good to know they are there.
Compass and fire steel on paracord around my neck. The flint striker has a built-in whistle.
Many things I take in but my fav would be my dog and powerade
Well I am a tooth man so the answer has to be the makings of a good roast and the makings of a good batch of scones/bread.
Binos! , and bick lighter on a string around my neck ( for checking wind if stalking and also for safety )
I would have to say I always take a survival kit (fire lighting, paracord and torch) and a balaclava to keep my noggin warm if needed
Mac Pack sleeping bag, 800xp I think its called. Keeps my balls toasty in the frost
Summer - BOP stubbies and Coromandel Hotel wife beater :D
Winter - Oil skin vest with swandry lining and a mate to chat with.
some rag for wiping scope, rifle and arse. my GPS

Haven't needed the spare scope yet which is surprising considering how clumsy I can be.

Barigo Model 39 analogue Altimeter - reads to 5m, don't need to worry about batteries or sky visibility, in combination with a map & compass. German engineering. Follows my rule of never buying something electronic if I can get a purely mechanical alternative ! And Optimus 8R stoves. Just keep on burning through the white spirits year after year.
well even on me duckshooting rig i have a pouch of emergency spares-inner tube ,lighter ,space blanket ,cause you never know.Imalso a fan of ye old longjohns cause weather turns to shit faster than politicians try to tell the truth!
keep it turned off or on silent but yeah my phone (fucken sad case but I do like to update the middy if I can get coverage) and 2nd my knife
A roll of bog paper and a nice warm scratcher.
I like to try and think outside the square, so I always take a rifle :P
