Saw someone use a butane lighter, very sensitive even in very low, imperceptible wind.

Of course no worry about bullet deflection at bush ranges, but scent drift.

Lighter, but I don’t check often. I plan my route based on forecast wind direction, with adjustment for actual breeze when I get there.
I tend not to hunt on windy days as I use my hearing more than my sight for finding animals.

lately Ive been using deer...they always seem to be downwind no matter which way we try to hunt....or maybe its just my butt???? as the wind always seems to be blowing up it!!!!!

shave hair off behind your ears or use a lighter.(lighter to see wind direction NOT for removing hair)

Here in the States, I like to use dried milkweed pods. You can pull out individual seeds with a whisp of hair on them and let them go in the wind. You can see them for a long ways, so it gives you a better idea of what the wind is doing overall instead of just at your location. This is very helpful when treestand hunting. If mountain hunting I use a wind indicator bottle filled with orange carpenters chalk.

I just rip the tops off some grass, hold it up, and drop it. Seems to work fine, readily accessible in the places I hunt, and the price is right.
Might not have the sensitivity of some of the other methods tho.
