I use the little(50ml aprox) kids bubble blower. Any form of indicator that is close and stays close (lighters, string on muzzle, etc) are very deceptive and a complete and utter waste of time. Try it, use a lighter, decide from that which way wind is going, then blow a bubble or 2, you'll be amazed. Wind swirls, especially in a semi-enclosed space, like bush.
That might very well work Daithi but a line needs to be drawn in the sand on this. Blowing bubbles is crossing over that line to the place where wind puffs turn into poofs !!
