    WOMEN HUNTERS? YOUR THOUGHTS!!

Ok right off the bat I'm not sexist this is just some early morning light banter so any ladies out there please dont take offence.

Lets start.... Yes I have a lovely partner (Lady) And do generally like the fairer sex apart from 1 week amonth when I try and make myself scarce!!!

My partner loves the water and asked me to teach her how to dive and tag along, whislest I enjoy doing things with my partner I like doing things on my own or with only my male mates..... So the deal was yes I will teach you to dive but theres is no way your coming on a boys trip or am I spending all my ive trips with u....

Have u seen how long it takes a women to get a dive suit on ??????!!!!!!!

Anyway I digress, on the way home from Oamaru hut with no sucess I thought I would drop into the Taupo ADULT SHOP ( hunting and fishing) not the other type of adult shop.

I was shooting the shit with one of the lads from H&F when a young fella (19- 22 yrs young)walks in proud as punch with his lady on his arm and a a fist fill of wedge (Cash) and proceeds to buy himself a brand spanking new rifle. The guy from H&F told me the young fella had got his misses into shooting and was going to take her hunting in the bush so she would inherit his old rifle.

At this point we both looked at each other and laughed out tits off!!!

This poor lad had clearly not thought this thru!!!! I couldnt imagine anything worse that taking my misses into the bush god bless her.

She would bitch and moan about the heavy pack, or that she had broken a nail , let alone get blood on her hands while gutting out an animal.

Argh bugger it good luck young fella you will need it!!!

Now before I finsih , hunting for me is not all about shoot shit whilst I enjoy some game meat as much as the next bloke . I am realistic to realise that not everytime you will go for a hunt will I get lucky. And just enjoy going hunting with mates with a similar bond getting out of the house roughing it a bit and getting a way from the misses.

Women and hunting for me no thanks!!! 3-4 days in the bush with my misses NO F&*king WAY!!!!!!!! Your thoughts???

I will now sit on the couch ,coffee in hand and let the entertainment unfold.

Some how the idea of coming across a good Doris kitted up to the nines while I am slogging up a hill has an element of fantasy to it. Wouldn't be the one that took her there though. Can't shoot the shit around a camp fire with a sheila.

My beloved always wants to go hunting with me but I explain that the distances walked to get to some areas and terrain hunted are out of her capability but in saying that when I am out shooting jackos or pigs on farmland I allow her to come as I know she can handle getting around on a farm and getting a shot or two off with the .22 keeps her happy she wont touch centerfires as one of the 6.5x55's I had gave her a good boot at the range, she didn't like that then she tried the 12g pump I had she dropped it out of fright with the exclamation of shit that has got a kick to it when it went off but didn't help that she had loaded a 3 inch magnum shell into it now that was funny.

As a general rule of thumb, if you have to preface a thread with "I'm not sexist", what you're about to say is usually pretty damn sexist.

If you can't put up with your own partner for three days in the bush then fair enough. This "poor lad" obviously could.

If you got a "barby doll" trophy missus maybe not a good idea to drag her bush.BUT there ARE plenty of good kiwi girls out there who can carry a pack, gut an animal etc .And hold there own round the campfire

Yep....... I'm a lady hunter (and no I don't hunt ladies.....like some of you fellas do...!!!).

I am very much at home in the bush and have shot a few deer/goats in my time and wrestled the odd hog or two.
I don't mind having to gut an animal and will happily carry it out of the bush. I've got a couple of reasonable heads which I'm proud of.......located/roared up, shot/gutted & carried out entirely on my own. I seem to have my best luck when out there on my own......(no pressure I guess)
Occasionally a bit of extra muscle power would be good. But there is absolutely no reason why us woman can't be as good as you blokes. It just depends on how you're brought up.....but it's not everyones 'cup of tea'.

For me.....I always loved the bush, exploring, and stalking animals......but I get as much of a buzz out of getting some good video footage or a good photo. It's not just about killing.
One thing I have learnt, is that you get to see some amazing sights of animals if you just watch and wait.....if you're not breaking your neck to shoot the first thing you see.
Oh....and by the way......I still look and act like a woman (I don't even have hairy arm-pits!!!!)

Bugger Bushrat, I was getting mildly excited and thinking of ditching the missus and taking up a new kind of stalking until you put that picture in my head. Good on ya though for getting out in the hills.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Went for a wander last week.......well actually tagged along for a pig-hunt with some mates. No pigs but did disturb a sika stag.......no gun though cos' we weren't after deer.
Man did I have sore legs for a couple days.....definitely an unfit bushrat.....!
But it was great to get out there to get some fresh air......spent the next day digging out gorse prickles though.
You fellas that live in that stuff......ya can keep it...!!!
    Give me supplejack anyday!!!

[QUOTE=Bushrat;27325]Man did I have sore legs for a couple daysQUOTE]

Oh I know that feeling well! I drive a desk for a living and the older I get the harder it is for me to keep fit and the easier it is to stack the weight on so now when I get in the hills I am sore as hell in the legs the next morning. But that said I will keep getting out there for as long as the legs will carry me.
