    Woodhill block 2014

I managed to draw a ballot block this year (block 3) going in this weekend. wondering if any forum members have got any reports or have been in this block before.
A friend got a nine point buck in block 7 a couple of weeks back, still waiting on the photos.
A day without thirty knot wind and rain would be good!
Hey diddle diddle, aim for the middle.

I missed out this year. But a mate had his hunt 2 sundays back. They saw 1 very early, then nothing for the rest of the day. They talked to the ranger guy at the end, and he said no deer were taken that day. Not sure which block they had.

    Any other reports out there??

Remind me where block 3? It's one of the inland ones right up the top?

Or one of the ones that back on to Lake Kareta and Lake Karaka?

Block 3 is between blocks 1 & 6 on the coast bounded by Inland rd to the east. The centre of the block is cutover from the northern boundary to the southern boundary. Between the cutover and Inland rd are 10-12yr old pines which are hard to hunt but hold good numbers of deer during the day. The coastal side has mature pines between the cutover and sand dunes and deer will lay up in there. Hunt the edge of the cutover during first light and also on dusk. Hunt the tall stuff during the day.

    Cheers
