If you do want to go for a walk most people go way too quick in there. My mate was saying today you want to be covering 10s or 100s of meters per hour not kilometers. I assume because as ted6.5 says bigger trees allows a lot of visibility, possibly further out than some of us are focused in close country.

Also he said there is shit loads of animals up there. When they do patrols they are seeing a couple of dozen a day generally.
