    Would you consider this ethical

I have been curiously looking through the uk deer stalking training programme (dsc1) and came accross the following
advice dished out for suitable time to wait after shooting a deer.

Immediately load another round, apply the safety catch and then wait. You should learn to recognise the behaviour of deer, shot in different parts of the body, as this will dictate how long you should wait before following up. Whatever the circumstances, wait at least five minutes.

Practicality aside, 5 minutes seems like a long time to wait before administering a coup de gras shot.
