    X-ray of shot deer

    https://youtu.be/nGhKnwE45OE?si=5liOXARG4cpvNlXO

This is a video where the guy X-rays deer to see where the lead fragments end up in a deer. It’s a bit long but you can fast forward to the X-ray part.
Little lead fragments go further than you’d expect.

Lot of things worse for you than the lead in jacketed bullets. Unless you are on the terminal end.

Hope the lead fearing people also avoid plastic tipped bullets and use lead free primers.

The lead you can't see in the X-Rays because it's too small is the stuff to worry about

We donate way more Venison than we could ever consume & I make a point of using lead free projectiles for everyone's piece of mind

Previously had the antis going on about lead in donated meat.....

That's a great video, thanks for sharing. I was aware of lead contamination, but not to the extent shown on that video.

A good excuse to make the carry out more pleasurable by not carrying out shot up forequarters

Beware what you wish for. Because it could very well be bye bye eld-m and eldx in the next decade like it is about to happen in the UK.
Does anybody know of anyone dying of lead poisoning via bullet fragment in their meat in the last forty or fifty years ?

    None.

There are agendas involved here. You have to be wary of who presents this kind of evidence. Remember the NZ scientists who presented a dead native bird to the press, that had eaten a bullet and died from lead poisoning? They also produced the bullet allegedly they had found in the carcass, and that they claimed had poisoned it - and it was apparent it had never been fired! It was an unfired projectile with not a mark on it.

‘Lead bullets and their risk to human health’. Previous thread on here, not the first probably, this topic got a fair thrashing already. Anyhow as I’ve posted before. I regularly eat meat from shot animals, all meat taken that’s not bloodshot or obviously damaged, plus I’m carrying a few bits of lead around in my body due to mishaps in life. Due to previous employment I used to get regular comprehensive blood tests done and have never had any bad results, including lead residue. Go figure. Not unduly worried about the subject. 63 years old by the way.

Not worrying about it for yourself is fine, but why expose kids, pregnant women and others' to lead if you can avoid it? Im re thinking this whole lead thing.

I'm 100% with you. It may not kill anyone, but the insidious effects, especially on still developing kids, are not positive. To knowingly add an avoidable disadvantage to a kid's already challenging development is really messed up.

I agree too. Second hand smoke and smoking in general was not really considered an issue and even encouraged but.................................fast forward 60 years and................................

If there is something small you can do then why not.

Bullets are the cheapest part of the operation when you consider whats spent on rifles, glass, must haves, fuel, accomodation etc etc etc.
