By my forum handle, you guessed it I like my gadgets. Garmin GPS, phone with GPS, both with maps. Good headlight and torch, they go with me. But come to navigation I prefer a paper map and occasionally a compass. Normally I just pick up a map look at the landscape and can pinpoint pretty closely where I am on it, even 30km away from a last reference and just following others that know where they're going (can't trust those coasters). The gadgets are more the backup/camp toys.

I do want to add a PLB to the kit though as I'm not as young as I used to and the body is rather dodgy. A good chance that a bit of a tumble would have me unable to walk, ever.

Yeh it's a bastard when the simmer frame gets tangled in the supple jack. Makes a good bench rest though!
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Well todays hunt was a success of sorts. We saw 5 hinds that were all well within shooting range. We left them for another day in hope there would be a stag around the corner. Turns out there was no stag around the corner... All of this was achieved by using no gadgets !
