    Greetings,
A Ruger no 1 in some rimmed calibre, 6.5 x 57R maybe. My cobber in Oz has one in .275 Rigby (aka 7 x 57 Mauser). Could probably afford one but advancing age and decrepitude together with frugal attitudes from my parents that lived through the depression have prevented one entering the rifle cupboard to date.

    Too easy...

A Glenn Soroka made Farquharson falling block in a caliber that would stop an African Buffalo

Colour case hardened metal work, I'm not into engraving.

A great cartridge, mine is a Sendero that sadly does not get out much. The reason the cartridge is not factory chambered any more is that Remington (and Winchester with their 7 mm WSM) stole the design, were sued and lost. There are probably more custom rifles around than factory.

@grandpamac, curious why a rimmed cartridge ? just your preference, or something to do with no 1 action ?

P.S. there is a nice 257 Roberts that has been sitting at Wilsons in Whanganui for several years... it would make an interesting heavy varmint / light deer rifle for NZ.

    Greetings ebf,
Just because I can really. We are dealing in hypothetical rifles here so practical does not come into it. I have seen just one single shot, NZ made I think, in that calibre. A .257 Roberts would be almost as good.
    Regards Grandpamac.

Honestly, I don't want another gun. I bought myself a gun that I didn't really "need" for a landmark birthday this year and that was a strange feeling.
