    Zeiss Thermal's

I am wondering if anyone here, has any experience with the Zeiss thermals, DTI 3/35 gen 2 or 1/25, and likewise their thermal scopes.
reason i am asking, is i have a big chunk of in store credit, at local sporting store after selling 1/2 dozen rifles, they have just got in the Zeiss thermal's one of each, and have thermal scopes incoming.
I had a play, with the demo 1/25, seams to work ok, but i have never used one, and don't know what to expect.
A thermal and scope, are on my wish list, so...................... rather than take the 20% clip, on consignment, money spent instore, is $ for $.

Take that money and get better conventional optics. Don't go down the thermal path and let it take that bit of excitement of hunting away.

556 would be the guy to talk to. As I understand it there are only 2 makers of the important bits (sensor) that everyone uses

That depends on the context. Sport hunting, pest destruction or something else. It depends.

Are you currently in NZ or Canada? If Canada you may be able to pick up a GSCI cheap and when you’re back in NZ you could pick up a handheld here. Issue with buying one in Canada is warranty and the GSCI doesn’t have a rangefinder but you could get a handheld with one to make it a non issue

Thanks to those who have replied, doesn’t look like anyone has any experience, with the Zeiss thermal range,
I am busy selling down firearms etc, just sold 7, 7 more dropped off Monday, got plenty of rifles, and good optics, don’t need any more, still in Canada, with later next yera likley for moving back to Taranaki.
Have been interested in a thermal, and night scope, of sum sort, for a while, It will just be for a bit of small game work at this stage, due to me being out of the county for 20 years , i just don’t have the Farmer friends, i used to, and night hunting on crown land isn’t legal,
Ive going to have big amount of credit, once the next lot of rifles sell, keen on a second K95 they a few, might just try the Zeiss thermal,
Not sure what to do about a scope, clip on or decated NV.
Plan is to set up a night scope on the K95, 22 hornet, and hopefully switch, it over on to one, of the other Blaser barrels, for K95, or R8, with out having to adjust,
