    1/4vs1/2 moa

Is there any real advantage between having 1/4moa as apposed to 1/2 moa adjustments on a lr scope for hunting/steel shooting to 1000yds.
Ran some numbers on shooter today and the difference at most looks to be .2moa at most out to 1000yds with just some rough numbers we ran

Well each 1/4 minute click will shift your impact approx 2.6" at 1000 yards which might be more useful than 1/2 minute clicks which are going to shift you 5.2".

In theory the farthest you can actually be, if you get everything right, with .5moa adjustments, is actually .25moa. Which is like 2.5" at 1000 yards. Not a real big offset and smaller adjustments don't help you get everything right.

Thanks for the feedback guys,1000yds on steel wont happen very often round my parts unfortunitly so more likely mainly hunting round 400 to 500yds once I get the rifle sorted etc.
Only asked as have just brought a vortex viper hs lr 4-16x50mm and they have 1/2 moa elevation and 1/4 moa windage.Just waiting for my rifle to be finished and the range to reopen after lambing.
I'm not too good at waiting
