    1000m rifle.... What?

So starting to get interested in LR shooting. I know there's heaps of calibres that will do this, and also that it depends on what type of 1000m shooting I'm meaning, etc... However, interested to hear thoughts on what people would recommend for a general purpose, normally just steel - but maybe animals a bit closer, not really to carry to far, reloads ok - but hopefully brass not $20 a pop and projectiles the same, and not a barrel burner - as I like to shoot!

Why not start with what you have now (assuming you already have a rifle) as long its got the legs surely better to shoot thatfor a while until you get an idea of what you really want

.303, fully wooded, sights factory fitted to 2200 yards...cant go wrong...cheap as chips to feed.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

Yes I know its a bit of a open ended question and also done before... sorry about that

I have a 6.5x55 now, and do enjoy it, but one cannot have enough toys. So starting to think about adding something else, and like others I tend to change my mind a lot......

That Anzio 20mm, does infact meet 1 criteria - it would shoot to 1000m... might go through the steel, but would get there. Prob wouldn't have to pay as much attention to wind either
