Nah
My mod 7 is factory 20" and it still does alright, i dont think another 2" off it would bother it an awful lot.
Has anyone tried a real short 260 with a good dose of 2206H?
My Mod 7 is the older 18.5 inch, goes fine. Thats just with 2209 havent tried 2206H in it @Gibo
Nah, unless you are a velocity hound ;)
Related question... Would it make a difference what cartrige? I was thinking of going short with a 6.5x55
Il buy it if you dont use it Slimy
They go better at 20, 22 and 24 as well... so it might follow....
Quickload, which is spot on with its predictions for my 260, with AR 2209 and 140's goes from 2620 at 20" to 2550 at 18", with AR 2209 and 120's 2830 at 20" to 2750 at 18".
Am running a T3.260 at the mo, it is trying very hard to be my goto gun- am able to get 2775fps with 140eldm and 2209, 18" barrel and drops verified out to 400 to confirm velocity. Don't care about case life on hunting loads but have lighter loads for practice/ zero check ect.
How do you find eldms as hunting loads??
got the chop today still shoot 1/4" @100 just need work out speedhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ded1a509a2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b8a6b1d5f5.jpg

What is that Hardy can like? Stealth?
My experience with the 75 Eldm is pretty good when it comes to terminal performance.
Even out to 420yds it was putting big goats down in a hurry. They're not deer I know, but they worked well.
Vitals were pretty messed up even at that range.
@buzzman you want the chrony chap?
He probably knows where the hunting load prints relative to the light load.
Sit up straight and pull your chair closer to your desk! I have my heavy hitter load for Tahr and deer: 140 eldm and 140sst, covers me 0-500yds, then I have a practice load
:100 eldm (2208) that is running at 3k, is on average 1/2-3/4 moa and happens to print exactly on the 140 loads at 110 and is still close at 300.
It's a load that the wife is comfortable shooting (bottles and bunnies) and will do the job on wallabies and fallow if needed, easy on the shoulder, easy on brass, easy on the pocket and just plain fun to shoot. I like my logic!
It's all here and there isn't it. Lighter pill going faster same POI makes sense.
Same pill less powder different POI.
The way it was written and seemed to me like it was same pill less powder hence my comment. No need to get closer to the desk you have clarified your statement.
Have a cracker
