Found some markings on this bayonet
1) RE - Remington. black.
2) 6 17 - June 1917
3) WILKINSON - Wilkinson Sword Company.
4) PALL MALL - scratched out. Not uncommon for Wilkinson to do so during 1916 - 1918.
5) G.R - Georgius Rex.
6) X - bending mark, proof of blade.
7) Broad arrow - government acceptance mark.
8) N - Naval Service
9) N.R. - Naval Reserve?
10) 457 - rifle number?
11) J.B - J.Brooks & Co Ltd.
Thats all the markings I can see without destructively cleaning it and I have no intentions to do so. For the rest of the markings in the photo, I am unsure, especially the ones below the broad arrow as it doesn't make any sense to me or look remotely similar to an inspection mark. Maybe someone can try?
