    1912 Chilean Mauser - Bolt compatibility ???

Hey Guys, I have the opportunity to acquire a 1912 Chilean Mauser in 7x57 however the bolt is lost. It's a little beat up but would make a great project for me and my son to see if we can save it.
I thought you knowledgeable folk might know what other mauser bolts that would be compatible so I could start looking around to try and find one ? I have found some complete bolts overseas but don't know about the logistics of permits etc.
    Cheers, Pete

Hi, I just dug my Chilean out of the safe and tried a few bolts in it. Looks like any STD length 98 bolt will fit. My m43 Spanish bolt looks like the easiest swap as it is straight bolt handle, and in the white like 1912's are, and it even headspaces. A couple of Parker Hale bolts I tried also would work, but the turned down bolthandles will require mods. Boomer.

Ok guys thanks to @7mmwsm we might have a possible replacement from what appears to be a Midland ? It would need the bolt handle straightening but do you think this could work ? what's likely the deal with head space ? (we would obviously get that checked) could it be that simple ? cheers

Dont think those Midland bolts fit a standard 98.

I think it's worth waiting for the police import permit to come through. Read up on the new ITAR rules and if you're lucky a new bolt doesn't need an export permit as it's under the 500 usd dollar limit.

If it's a standard mauser bolt Graeme Champion would be well worth a buzz.
Had several when I got mine last year
