Gidday Guys
I feel the need for a 22RF build. I have an action. I have an idea. Oh lordy help me !!
So an ideal barrel length for a 22 can be pretty short, say about 10-12 inches. If its going to be real short it could be a quite heavy or a bull barrel. If the suppressor was integral or machined into the end of the barrel then the short effective length wouldn't be a problem with the law would it ??
I have in mind the design of a Manatis suppressor, the design is very simple to machine, basically what I'm proposing is to counterbore the muzzle end of a heavy barrel, machine in the suppressor shape and then make up a cover to bring it back to its original diameter and a finished appearance on an overall length of about 16 inches.
The balance should work out quite nice, it would feel stable in the hand, but would be lighter than a full target barrel . . . the ideal might be to get a suitable aluminium sleeved barrel I suppose but I'm not going to hack up the Kidd one I have as an experiment !!
Anyone know if this has been tried ??
