Any .22 Pistols that you guys recommend?
I would like to get the CZ-75 Kadet but it's just so expensive! Is it worth the 1.5k?
Cheers

Get a CZ75 centrefire and get the Kadet kit for it?? still about $999 though from memory just for the kit
For what use, anyway?
I have the GSG and it's pretty good. Change the ambi safety or knock the sharp edge off and its good to go.
There's a used Sig at Gunsupplies for @$800
https://www.gunsupplies.co.nz/used-f.../542-sig-sauer
and with a suppressor for $950.
The .22 adaptor kit for $1100 for a CZ75/SP01 is too pricey for my blood.
Deadeye Dicks have brand new Sig Mosquitos for $600. Deadeye Dicks - Rimfire Pistol
I've got about 10K+ rounds through mine, works decent enough. It's only 90% the size of a P226, so my thumbs sometimes touch the slide and cause malfunctions. 22 Sigs, GSGs, Chiappas and Walthers are made from cast zinc alloy (potmetal), which is only used for it's cost effectiveness. But then Hi-Point make their 9, 40 and 45 from cast zinc alloy if that says anything.
If you want a service style plinker I'd get a M&P22. Product: Smith & Wesson Model M&P22 - 12 Rounds
They have 12 round mags (all the rest have 10), are full sized and nearly identical to centerfire M&Ps, and are made from machined aluminium.
Petone Gunshop have some on order, but couldn't give me a delivery date when I emailed them. They said they'd retail for around $600.
If you're not worried about it looking like a service pistol, you couldn't go wrong with any of the Ruger 22s.
it says this:

(Hi Points are the worst junk)
I haven't shot a huge heap of .22 pistols but I like the Ruger 22/45, easy to shoot, similar manual of arms to most centrefire semi-auto pistols (1911 control layout), reliable, easy to get parts etc.
Crickey that's some seriously good pricing listed there on the website.
http://www.deadeyedicks.co.nz/cms/me.../Mos-Sport.jpg
$650 new.
The 22s (at least Sig and GSG anyway) use 'Zamak 5', while Hi-Points use the weaker 'Zamak 3' and obviously fire much higher pressure ammo, so the 22s aren't as shit as Hi-Points.
The only thing I don't like about the 22/45 is how the mag inserts at a different angle to the grip, but they are better guns than any of the look-alike 22s.
The 2nd gen GSG are nicer than 1st. White bright logos are early ones.
Plenty of good .22 target pistols listed in the bullshooter magazine
Smith & Wesson Model 41.

stay away from the mosquito theirs a reason so many of them are for sale.
Walther p22 if you like that look.
Ruger MK3 if you wana be the ballseye.
Uburti 10shot if you wana be a dirty cowboy like me.
The Walther P22 is just as bad/worse than the Mosquito

When it comes to 22 pistols , just call me OLD school , or just OLD , But to me , a 22lr is going to get shoot alot , as ammo should be cheap , and other point is you not having to reload for IT .
as its going to get used alot , and because I donot think the zinc potmetal will last , I would not ever get a aluminium or zinz slide pistol , to me they make no sense at all , except they are cheap ???? ,
Me I like the S&W 41 , Ruger MKIIs and most Beretta 70 series models , I have no experience with the Walther PPs & PPKs in 22lr , but as they are real steel , maybe worth a look .
The 41 is too dear new , look at 2nd hand .
I run a Beretta 76 target and find it very good , its basically the longer barrelled version of the smaller M70 .
The Isrealis did some good work with suppressed M70s , and they had acess to anything , they choose the M70 .
Like all things , IF you want a really nice " THING " , it costs more , but may last longer & do a better job .
Later Chris
The look-alike .22s can't have steel slides as it's too much mass for the .22 to cycle. The breechblock is still steel, it's only the outer slide that's aluminium. Zinc alloy is less than ideal, but if you're worried about machined aluminium for the slide you might want to stay away from 10/22s, AR15s and all the shotguns that use aluminium receivers.
A Walther PP in .22 would be pretty cool.
Actually the look alike 22lrs can have steel slides , just like the CZ75 Kadets etc and several other hi-end conversion kits , me I prefer not to buy guns made from zinc etc .
You can design and make 22s just like the CZ Kadet , BUT they are not as cheap as the zinc/alum guns , thier is a steel 22 kit for the Glocks , its almost the same cost as a complete Glock centerfire pistol however .
Only a section of the Kadet's 'slide' actually reciprocates, so it can be made from steel. Full size 22 conversions that have fully reciprocating slides can't be all steel, even high end ones like Kimber and Sig are aluminium. The Glock conversion that you mentioned, the TSG-22, is a steel outer slide with an aluminium breechblock.

The tactical solutions Glock kit has quite bad reviews. The Advantage Arms kit reviews better. It's a pity Glock don't make a factory .22 gun.
I intend to buy a Kadet kit + a 9mm CZ 75.

would be cool but to my understanding there to small to be in NZ or something
Not by the law - just by PNZ's stupid "letter of agreement" with the police.

I want one of these when they turn up here.
My Beretta Neos

The carbine kit would be way cool.

I hate reloading! I'd rather pay 10c per round and shoot .22 and not have to load it.
Long exposure shot of my Sig

I had one of these, awesome little toy, never ever had a stoppage, my brother has it still.
Beretta 70 Series
They do with some fitting, but I want the standard 75 "Shadow Line" rather than the SP-01 Shadow
CZ 75 SHADOW LINE | Pistolen standard - Ceska zbrojovka
