    22 subsonic

me and a mate are starting to long range shoot our 22's to get used to dialling etc before sending a lot of cash down range with the bigger cannons
where we are shooting we have to use suppressed 22 rifles with subsonic ammo my normal ammo for this kind of job would be a standard vol target round however they are still a little loud for what we need

my mate was using cheep Remington stuff and it seemed pretty accurate from his em332 into about a 6 inch group at 297m with sunday being a super still day up here

my question and I know this depends a lot on the rifle but if any one can suggest what ammo/ammo's to try im not worried about killing just need the best accuracy I can get from my rifle with a subsonic load

Maybe look at some target ammo as i have found it really shrinks group sizes at distance, not the cheapest option out there but $0.20 is still cheeper than any centre fire.
I use Ely club, but that's more because I all ready have it than anything else

yeah I like sk standard but its a little loud for what we need

the issue to my knowledge is that most target ammo is standard which is a bit faster than sub ammo but not high vol but is still quite a bit louder than sub through a can well with the brands ive tried anyway

Sounds like you are stuck with having to but a box of each ammo that advertises a below speed of sound velocity, that you can find, and testing them out.
I strongly suspect you know this, but I'll say it anyway for others reading-you don't have to shoot up all of each box! It's hand to have them on hand for when down the track you end up with another .22 to find a load for.

There is probably a market for a dealer to sell trial kits of ten rounds of each .22 they stock

There's some fabulous RWS ammo that's around, the cheapest Club is @$80/brick and the top of the range Target stuff goes up to @$250/brick. But the Club shoots utterly amazingly fantastic out of my Marlin - the best I've found. Beats the SK Plus, T22 and the like. Currently runs at @1080 fps or thereabouts, still subsonic.

You can buy boxes of just 50 if you wanted to test.

    +1 for RWS
Velocity is thrilling, but diameter does the real killing.

I shoot a lot of bunnies (pest control) with a subsonic Wairache rig and I initially used CCI Subs because of the price but found I was getting better accuracy with Winchester subs which is nearly 2x price. I can't justify more that $90/brick ... and I don't shoot targets. Hope this helps. Keep safe. Gunzrrrr
