Thread: .223 Recommendations ?

    Get another Tikka. 223 comes in 1:8 twist, not all do. And they normally shoot good.
    I'd say this is the general consensus through out the threads from years gone by.

    Is the in 1:8 twist better then the 1:12?

    I think so... My first one shot 50-80gr projectiles well.
    If you like long shots the fast twist let's you shoot high bc heavy bullets, also you may find a deer in your varmint spot, the heavy bullet may help in that situation too.
    If you will shoot 55gr bullets and under get the slow 1:12 twist.

    I should add, hand loading goes well with 1:8 twist. In saying that I'm not sure what heavy bullets you can by in off the shelf ammo.

    Some good advice bro. Ill definitely keep the reloading part in mind. As of right now i dont reload but its something im interested in learning
