    22LR for use around babies

My little daughter is 3 months old and turning out like Dad. She only cries when bored. If I have to look after her we walk around for hours in the push chair. I think it needs a rifle scabbard so we can menace a few rabbits in the process.

What is the quietest combo of suppressor/subs? I am looking at either a new bolt action (as I am not threading my anschutz) or maybe a lever gun.

The lever gun is a PITA to get done unless it is like a Ruger with the box mag. The tube is in the way have to take the silencer off to reload as well as probably costing more to get threaded. I have a lever and would like to shorten it and do just that but unless I could do it all myself I wouldn't want to pay for it.
If you are buying another one you could cheap out and get a norinco jw15 with a silencer. with a little bit of work they are meant to be perfectly acceptable.
I always used Winchester/kilwell hushpowers but I see a few here like the CCi subs. Comes down to what the rifle likes really.

As I shoot for pleasure I will leave the old jw15 in the safe, though I can't fault it.

You are absolutely right about the lever gun. Never thought of that.

There is a nice Voere on tardme. The only one I bought was stuffed and I took it back.

There are some slip on ones and if you cant find one you can make one. This way you can use your annie without threading it, but it does mean you dont get to buy another gun.

A reasonable Norinco would be great. Shorten the barrel so it is a suppressor shorter than your Annie and then you will find it similar to what you are used to.

I should clarify I want a nice rifle to play with first and foremost. Still considering a 10/22 because I want one and have not had one for ever. First gun I ever bought. Stainless/plastic. Shot like a bag of arse.

I had a Thompson R55 I never should have sold. It was threaded, it would be perfect. Magazines were impossible to get.

I am now searching for Ruger 66/22

The DPT plus extra baffels sounds perfect. Have not looked at a Tikka T1 yet.

I have a marlin 60 tube mag with a suppressor that I don't have to remove to load.
It is quiet with most subs. Very quiet. A plop sound and most of that is coming back from the target end.

I tried the cci Quiet ammo recently.
    Amazingly quiet @750ish fps iirc.
But it was a good 4-6" drop from my 50 zero with the cci suppressor I use normally.
Anything in between also required some thought as I shot over the intended target a lot. Very frustrating with no time.

I re zeroed it the other day with my normal cci suppresor ammo.

Might be a bad batch as they were inconsistent to say the least.
You could hear the difference and watch some of the projectiles on their way to the target and drop out of the group.

    Normally very accurate and consistent.

I found the 10/22 for you . Mount it on top of the pram. Problem solved.

I should expand my original post so it makes sense. I have an Anschutz I paid $1000 for second hand in working condition. It is one of the expensive ones, but someone put it to good use. I have continued with that. It has changed my attitude to rifles. It has some magic inside it where anything you shoot at dies. What do you get for all that money over a normal .22, even tuned up? I have no idea but it works.

I am not going to butcher the Anschutz, I will re-finish it one day. I am wondering if there is a similarly elegant machine a lot cheaper I can hack the end of and suppress. I will cut it to a length that matches the original balance pre-suprression.

I assume the Ruger lever gun is rare as hens teeth? It would be perfect.

    What is this?

Whatever it is, it will be a crime to chop the end off, but I want a hack around gun for the farm that is super quiet for bub, that is still really nice to shoot.

I have a .22 air rifle that goes faster than that. Might actually be a good idea though. More than enough to shoot a few bunnies at close range.

Someone else mentioned a bad batch of CCI?

She is probably too young. She can have one of those mounted when she is 6 months old.

Yeah the cci Quiet is slow but almost quieter than an air rifle I'd say.
Kills well out to 50 yrds as bout as far as I have shot it on bunnies.

It's not the first batch of cci suppressor ammo I have noticed with issues.

Their standard velocity is almost sub sonic but the most consistent I have tried over the chrony by far.

Did some digging on the Cogswell-apparently its a rebadged CZ455 with a stock selected by cogswell. is it the same money as one of them? Otherwise nothing wrong with it.
That Voere would be nice and suggest its priced ok, but don't see enough of them around to know for sure.
Both threaded so that parts done-no hacking that end.
