@300wsm for life that will be a nice setup. They will take a Rem 700 carbon stock as you're probably aware so you can lighten them that way but yeah they aren't the lightest. Like you I prefer the feel of them to the Tikka.
I'm actually trying to decide on whether to keep my z6i 1-6 on it or put my VX5HD 3-15 on...the VX makes it pretty hefty.
Yea that's the dilemma I have. The v4 is 640g so total weight with scope, suppressor and bipod is 4kg. Still 500g lighter than my last set up. I have the V4 listed for sale and if it sells I will get either a Z3 or a VX3i. Will loose close to 300g with that.

Different animals will go different distances too, once chased a hair that had been popped through the ticker with a .22LR clear across four paddocks and it beat us as it cleared through the stream and over the stopbank on the far side never to be seen again. That would have been a good Km at least before we lost sight of it, solid knockdown, funky chicken impersonation and a large blood pool before it got up and sodded off on us. Good marked hit too, definite ticker whap.
My own experience of yard killing, even point blank skull shots we had failure to kill. Nothing is 100%, but the most reliable placement on offer is the best you can do. I've been quite liking taking the base of the neck and cutting off the supply of go juice to the brain along with hopefully sniping off the main wiring loom - it stops everything so no lactic acid buildup as well as draining the fluids out. Not a reliable long range or anything slighty off-position shot though...
