had a 270 never had any trouble killing anything i pointed it at, but now im using a suppressed 7mm08 and getting pretty close to the same bullet doing the same speed with a 1/4 of the noise and 1/4 of the boot.
better bullet selection also
there is not really any good reason to buy 270 these days in my opinion.
270 is probably responsible for more flinches then any other round in history, its taken about a thousand rounds for me to rid my self of my own 270 flinch

Many many years ago when i was between 22s and waiting for the Anschutz on order all I had was a 270 for about a year for all my shooting.
Shot a lot of hares and rabbits with it.
Pretty hard on my poor spaniel though.
Pre suppressors
Pre rangefinders
Pre giving a shit about your own ears
Got me started on reloading
For a lefty like me a .270 M700 was the only left hand rifle available

Many people seem to think the 270 is a beast of a rifle to shoot, I really think there are much harder kickers about. The 270 is a fine caliber and is worthy of its fine record as a big game caliber. Won't be long and these debates will be a thing of the past the way things are going.....maybe just maybe we will be aloud an air rifle.

Repeating myself but.. ; .270, 110gr Pro-Hunter, 48gr Imr4064. no more kick than my 6.5x55's. They pass through a 12" lombardi-poplar at 50m and are effective easily out to 300m. No 'can' either , cant bring myself to cut a nice rifle with original open sights.

Love my .270. My Dad & I took all our African animals with our .270’s, none of them ran further than 100 yards, heart/lung shots. Norma 150gr and Fiocchi 130gr factory ammo.
