Just grab a base model Merkel K3 or K95 in 7x65, .30/06, 7 mm RM or .300 WM like @stug or our west coast man and your good to go.

178 gr ELDX with 58 grs Superformance for 2781 fps AV out of a Ruger American 22 inch barrel. First group I shot went into an inch and at the same point of impact as my previous load with 180 gr Noslar BT s using 57 grs Ar 2209 which is max in my rifle , I would drop a couple of grains and work up to that in your rifle.

Ha - yes I'd love a K95 or the like and have fondled a couple - but I'm a quantity over quality sort of gun-nut!

In this order all look to get 2800fps or over in a 22" barrel with 180gr pills and I'd say Superformance would be close

I shoot a Sako 85 30/06 with Shilen Select Match barrel at 23 inches.

It's a good rifle, have shot Tahr out to 500yards and its bloody accurate with the 165gr Sierra Gamechangers ai biff out of it.

Tentman, i changed over to an 06 quite a while ago as my allrounder, 1st with an R8 and now a carbon light which beretta got in for me, it is absolutely great and consistantly shoots out to 650 with no worries. Spent a lot of time load developing and and ended up with 2209 and Barnes TTSX 168gr, tried the 165 and they just didnt go as good as longrange, i was hesitant at 1st going to the 06 but love it as an allrounder now.

The 06 is all ways going to have fans because it's legit it kills well

Why not just buy a 300wsm? Xbolt 23inch barrel same 30cal bullet, I use 200gr eldx @2940 they are dead everytime.

@Blackmac possibly it insnt chambered in a t/c encore or.also possible the recoil in such a light system is starting to get a bit much.
