I love the 300 versatile and a great short distance rifle. Good choice of pills for reloading but still pretty suck in what's stocked in shops for factory options.
I've gone the reload route and using 110 and 125 gr pills that are more than enough. Smk's most accurate but shite on game as you'd expect but Barnes and hornadys good. At the 125 level the noslers are awesome bang flop projectiles.
Quiet as with supersonics with a good surpressor sounds like a 22 in the bush which is helpful too.
Ruger American ranch beds well and is accurate for $ 800 needs a bit of stock stabilisation but cheap enough to do.

great fun to play with...only issue the bolts on the wrong side for me...lol.

Cheers, I suspected the factory availability and price might be an issue. Does look like a fun change from the 308. Thought it might add a bit more challenge and sport to a day out in the tight stuff.
Unfortunately lefties don't have great choice with rifle selection, I shoot south paw too.!

    That's what AR15s are for

If you don't reload and don't want subsonics go 7.62... Otherwise 300 all the way.

I like both but I would also say that 300 is better in short barrels say sub 16" while 7.62 is better in 16" plus. 300 uses shotgun powder. 7.62 fast rifle powder.
